Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions about Shopmaps. Looking for setup steps instead? See the docs.
Which map providers can I use?+
Google Maps, Mapbox, or OpenStreetMap — pick whichever one you already have an API key for (or use OpenStreetMap, which needs no key at all), per widget, from its Map settings.
Does it work with Shopify, WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, or Webflow?+
Yes — the embed is a plain script tag or iframe, so it works on any site that lets you paste HTML. No platform-specific plugin required.
Will it slow down my page?+
No — the script embed mounts inside an isolated shadow DOM and won't pick up or leak styles from the rest of your page. The iframe fallback loads lazily too.
What happens if I go over my plan's location limit?+
You won't be able to add new locations past your plan's limit until you upgrade — locations you've already added keep working normally.
Can I change the widget's look after it's already embedded?+
Yes — colors, fonts, layout, and map style are all controlled from the widget's Theme settings. Changes show up automatically, with nothing to re-embed.
Is there an API or webhooks?+
Professional and Premium plans include public API access and webhooks for syncing locations from your own systems.
Can dealers or franchisees submit their own locations?+
Yes, on the Starter plan and up — generate a link (or embed the form directly on a page) and dealers submit their own store details. Nothing goes live automatically; your team reviews and publishes each one from the dashboard.
